You’ve probably noticed that when you first purchase a computer or laptop, that it runs really fast. Then, after several months, programs and activities start to slow down. This can be for many reasons :– additional software getting loaded that runs as a background task, build-up of temporary files, fragmented files around your disk, spyware or even a virus. If you suspect the latter, bring it along for a PC check- up. We can do a repair before damage is done. Best to be on the safe side if you have important data.

The relentless march of technology means that today’s hard disks have huge amounts of storage capacity – storage up to 1Tb is becoming more and more common.

That’s great while your computer is running well, but what happens if you have a problem with a hard disk drive? It means an expensive computer repair. The sheer amount of data (which can be personal photographs, family videos, or emails or mission critical business information) means that a hard disk crash can be a big problem. Too often we see customers in a panic for PC Repair Heswall due to a bad disk.

Disks can just wear out, or become corrupted due to a virus or memory problem. Not to mention water or heat damage, power surge problems, or accidental damage.

Our advice – hard drives have a limited life, so make sure your important data is well backed up. There are many ways to do this now, including memory sticks, CD-Rom, data DVD, external hard-drives, even offsite storage. Contact us to discuss your options, we don’t like to see our customers get stressed due to data loss!
